I colored my hair. I also colored my extensions, because otherwise I’d look tre white trash, as they were blond. I feel so much better with brown hair. It’s like home for some reason. Now, if only my hair was REALLY this long, I’d be satisfied with myself. lol.

I got my chest piece done. It was, quite honestly, the single most painful experience of my entire life. (thus far.) It hurt worse than the other three combined. But, it was most definitely worth it, and I love it. The hummingbirds are for my mom. They’re her favorite. And the quote is from the song “Save Us” by Cartel.

My cat got even cuter, if it was possible. lol. He’s about 9 weeks now, and he’s a mean little fucker. I’m trying to talk Branden into getting an older male cat to be his companion, but Branden really isn’t keen on the idea. (Even though this cat is already neutered! Someone kick him.)

My sister, brother-in-law, and nephew moved to the same town that my parents live in. I get to see my nephew any time I want now! Be happy for me, because before it was less than once a month, sometimes two or three! That was a sad, sad time. But now I’m happier!

I registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond today. It was like Christmas in July. I decided to forgo fine China in favor of a nice set of Corelle that I found at Target. (I’m also registered there!) Actually, I have THREE sets of Corelle that I want. One for every day use, and then two that compliment eachother that I’ll use together for parties. (Each set is only 4 place settings, so I need two sets for a whole service. One is white, and one is white with green flowers. Both are rounded square sets.) The most expensive item on my registry is my formal glassware. I got stemless wine glasses (though, for us, they’ll be mixed drink glasses or what we drink our Coke out of at dinner parties. We don’t drink wine, but it’s nice to have them handy.) that come 2 to a set, and six sets each of two different glasses. (White and red wines.
) They’re Riedel Crystal. And they’re gorgeous, simple, and perfect.
So, that’s what’s been going on. I’m sorry I’m a lazy bum when it comes to updating. I’m trying to think of some new projects I can work on, but nothing is coming to mind. lol.
Oh, I also got a request to shoot a wedding in January. It’s for a friend from work, Katie, who’s recently gotten engaged. She’s adorable, so I’m cutting her a deal (Charging $30/hr instead of $50). I’m also shooting a reception in August for another girl at work, Hilary. She’s getting married in Vegas and having a reception when they get back, which should be awesome. I’m excited that this is FINALLY paying off. It takes a lot of “Hey, do you know anyone getting married? Having a baby? Give them my card!” and a LOT of offering to do stuff for less than I really want right now. But if that’s what it takes to start getting high paying gigs, I’ll do it for now.
I’m wondering what to buy with the money from the weddings. I’m only going to do ceremony photos and before/after ceremony portraits for Katie, and only portraits/during reception for Hilary, so it won’t be an extravagant amount of money. But, if I can save it (as in, if I don’t have bills to pay) I could buy myself a new lens, or a flash. I’m leaning towards the lens, because I prefer to not use flash whenever I can. I’m thinking a 70-300mm zoom, good choice? If you have any recommendations, let me know!
I’m gonna watch a movie or something now. Love to you all!
